In addition to full cycle accounting duties this position has secondary responsibilities for general accounting, budgeting and financial analysis supporting the Insurance and Financial Services (I&FS) Department including accounting and budgeting responsibilities for specifically identified cost centers that support the Plan Administration function at NRECA. Assists team members in the further development and implementation of financial dashboard reporting, and management reports used by the Plan Administrator. Position supports the billing of administrative expenses process including performing in-depth review and analysis of expenses within the I&FS Department to ensure an accurate administrative bill is created and submitted. In addition to the above, this position requires the candidate to provide exceptional customer service and work well within a fast paced team environment. Purpose and MissionA cents € cents Supports monthly financial reporting delivered to the departments, including preparing comparative and activity reports for the department management, and assists with quarterly financial presentations. A cents € cents Prepares monthly financial analysis by established due dates.A cents € cents Reviews general ledger accounts to ensure proper classification and recording of all financial transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and takes any necessary corrective action. Corrective action includes proposing of reclassification entries and recurring adjustments. A cents € cents Analyzes monthly financial results in comparison to established budget, investigates any significant variances and takes corrective action as needed. Performs in-depth variance analysis. A cents € cents Knowledgeable about department operations and business, which include but are not limited to, obtaining an understanding of key business processes, goals, strategies, and challenges/threats.A cents € cents Develops strong working relationships with department management and staff. Go-to person for all finance, budget and accounting questions for departments that are assigned.A cents € cents Seeks ways to improve monthly financial reporting process to ensure the department management receives timely and relevant financial information.A cents € cents Provides accounting support the administrative expense billing process and annual budget process for the Insurance and Financial Services Department.Requirements and QualificationsBachelorA cents € (TM) s degree in Accounting or a related field. A CPA or MBA a plus.2-4 years of progressive accounting and budgeting experience.1. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and their application as demonstrated by prior work experience.2. Ability to manage competing deadlines and multiple projects at various stages of development using effective organization skills and attention to detail as demonstrated by prior work experience. 3. Ability to organize and manage time, multi-task, operate under pressure and prioritize projects using effective organization skills as demonstrated by prior work experience.4. Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership and employees in a clear and precise manner as demonstrated by prior work experience.5. Ability to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Power Point) in the day-to-day essential duties of the job as demonstrated by prior work experience.6. Ability to perform mathematical calculations (addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, percentages) for payment distributions as demonstrated by prior work experience.7.
