AIS is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to support the Infrastructure Consulting Practice! We're seeking a technical consultant with extensive experience in solution design and analysis of technologies for our customers looking to modernize their workloads. This individual is expected to participate in technical consultations with our customers, have the ability to commute to various client sites throughout the DC metro area including Rockville, Maryland and have the ability to obtain a DOD security clearance. Help Us Deliver Successful Projects!Act as a subject matter expert (SME) in various Infrastructure technologies (Load balancing, Network switching and routing, data storage, compute)Strong knowledge of AD, DNS, Group Policy, Authentication technologiesStrong understanding of operational methodologies and local infrastructure topologyPerform strategic assessment and design for workload modernizationProvide technical documentation and recommendations through discoveryAbility to observe, detect, identify and neutralize complex technical challenges and communicate resolutions in a clear, concise and complete manner Design and build core infrastructure solutionsParticipate in sales engineering activities such as statements of work, customer technical meetings, and presentationsProvide training on technologies to other engineersServe as a strategic liaison and collaborate with internal teams and customer IT contactsProfile of Success:Minimum of 7 - 10 years of experience managing, designing, and implementing infrastructure solutions for Data Center technology stacksPrevious IT experience including IT services and support in Windows administration/engineeringBackground in design and implementation services for Infrastructure SolutionsPrior experience in a consulting and/or professional services environmentExperience designing and implementing data center solutionsExperience with engineering and architecting hybrid environments and deploymentsAdvanced expertise of network architectures and data communication protocols including: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCPIn depth understanding of authentication and authorization servicesStrong understanding of Firewall, VPN configuration, and switchingAbility to develop complete solutions including sizing, infrastructure, data protection, disaster recovery, and application requirementsDemonstrable enterprise architecture planning and design skillsIndustry Relevant Certification (CCNA, CCNP, MCSE) Ability to work occasional afterhours/weekends for scheduled work and travel as requiredMust have the ability to obtain a minimum of a DoD Secret security clearance to gain access to client sites and networksAbility to commute throughout the entire DC metro area to work onsite with clients as neededOther Desirable Skills:Experience with Microsoft Azure and AWSExperience with SQL ServerSCCM Experience is a PlusSharePoint experience is a PlusApplication coding and scripting is a PlusClient Site Locations: DC Metro Area (Downtown DC, Maryland and Northern Virginia)*Consultants' assigned client sites are subject to change due to the consultative nature of our work.
