Overview:If you love working with GIS and developing software to help people solve important problems, join our Business Development Team. You'll build solutions to help the defense community implement the ArcGIS platform, working directly with customers and account staff to help meet our customers' needs. You'll have the opportunity to grow your skills in GIS, software development, and business development.Responsibilities:Work directly with Esri's national government customers to help them succeed with enterprise implementations and custom application developmentCollaborate with account staff to support their business development initiativesTake responsibility as Esri's lead technologist for key defense accountsProvide technical leadership as a senior software developer in Esri's national government sectorBuild application templates that add value to Esri customers' investments in the ArcGIS platformRepresent Esri at professional conferences and Esri hosted eventsPrepare and deliver presentations, including technology demonstrations, in important scenarios where major growth is at stake and success is essentialRequirements:Five or more years of application development experience with desktop, native mobile, and/or server-side applicationsTwo or more years of ArcGIS experienceStrong development skills in Java, .NET (especially C#), and/or C++ (Qt is a plus)Significant object-oriented development experience and skillsUnderstanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and database designStrong experience with relational database management systems (RDBMS), such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, and/or SQL ServerSkills in building client-side web applications, including HTML and JavaScriptStrong experience with deploying and debugging Java web applications in servlet containers, such as Tomcat and JBossExperience working with Linux, including building and deploying applications on LinuxExcellent communication skills, including public speakingUS citizenship and ability and willingness to obtain a security clearanceBachelor's or master's in computer science, software engineering, or a related fieldRecommended Qualifications:Fifteen or more years of application development experience with desktop, native mobile, and/or server-side applicationsTwelve or more years of ArcGIS experience, including ArcGIS Enterprise, Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online, ArcObjects, ArcGIS Engine, and enterprise geodatabasesExperience with agile development methodologies, specifically ScrumStrong experience in building Java Swing applicationsExperience with JavaScript frameworks, especially DojoFamiliarity with Python, JavaFX, and networkingFamiliarity with security, including SSL/TLS and PKIDomain knowledge in the defense industry#LI-DNP The Company:Our passion for improving quality of life through geography is at the heart of everything we do.
