Marine Engineer - Senior (Piping/Fluid Systems - Navy/Commercial Ships)
Responsibilities Looking for a change? This position is full of variety, ranging from repowering of small Army Watercraft, to working on developmental and dynamic systems of the US Navy's newest class of Air Craft Carriers. Provides an opportunity to work on extremely challenging projects, that could lead to future growth opportunities.. As a Senior Engineer in the Fluid Systems Section, responsibilities include design, development and analysis of fluid and firefighting system aboard combatant, auxiliary, and commercial ship types through all phases of ship design. Responsibilities include marketing, task management and oversight, development of engineering trade-off studies and reports, machinery/equipment sizing and selection, piping system sizing and pressure drop analysis, life cycle cost analysis, and preparation of system arrangement drawings, pipe and component sizing, machinery equipment lists, diagrams, engineering calculations and system and equipment specifications. Qualifications BS in mechanical or marine engineering with a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in piping system design experience related to both Commercial and Naval ship systems design at concept through contract design. Licensed Marine Engineer is a plus but not required. Ship machinery system testing, operation, and detail design experience is a plus. Knowledge of Regulatory Body Requirements is required.
