Overview:Frontpoint presents an outstanding career opportunity for a Junior Staff Accountant with stellar experience and talent. As a key member of the Accounting team, the Junior Staff Accountant will report to the Controller and own the account reconciliations, capital expenditure process and other vital accounting functions. This position touches multiple aspects of the Accounting team and will serve as a Strategic Business Partner to the whole business. You will be performing variance analysis, keeping track of capital expenditures, calculating annual business personal property taxes and other reporting that FPNA uses to create their financial modelling. You will also be maintaining and optimizing a monthly operational expense report that keeps track of all our vendor transactions. You will be carrying out all your work in accordance with GAAP and making sure all corresponding work is as well. Responsibilities:Reconcile balance sheets, accounts, and research internal/external discrepancies in a timely manner.Keep track of capital expenditures through Great Plains and keep track of amortization and depreciation of assets.Conducts operational expense analysis by cross checking transactions A/P has made.Posts journal entries and making sure the debit and credit flow is moving smoothly.Own our prepaid expense process by determining if certain things are prepaid in the determining timeframe.Performs complex financial reporting that involves variance analysis and account analysis through MS Excel.Prepares financial information to submit for closing activities.Creates financial reports that will calculate annual business property taxes.Serve as a business partner to other departments of the company when there are account discrepancies or inquiries to the corresponding department.Oversee accurate and timely processing of general accounting transactions.Follow established accounting practices in accordance with GAAP and provide suggestions to improve efficiency.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.0-2 years of experience of being a Jr Accountant, Staff Accountant or Full Charged Bookkeeper or Accounting Specialist in a fast paced environment.0-2 years of working with an accounting software, preferably Great PlainsMust be extremely proficient in Microsoft Excel, including knowing how to do v-look ups, pivot tables and other complex functions within Excel.Looking for someone who is deadline driven and able to multi-task.Ability to develop concise and well-organized summaries of complex data.
