RESPONSIBILITIESServe as a member of the Site Section located at the Remote Sensing Laboratory Andrews(RSLA) on Joint Base Andrews (JBA) in Maryland. Must be able to assist with all facilities,electrical, environmental safety and health, some Heating, Venting and Cooling System (HVAC)events. Candidate will participate in planning, staffing scheduling activities; assist in allocatingresources to optimize team effectiveness; and monitors progress with respect to schedules andcustomer satisfaction. Job specific functions are as follows: Must be able to identify electricalwires by color. Major job duties will include reading blue prints or technical diagram before doingwork; Install and maintain wiring and lighting systems; Inspect electrical components, such astransformers and circuit breakers; Identify electrical problems with a variety of testing devices;Repair or replace wiring equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools; Follow state andlocal building regulations based on the National Electrical Code and direct and train workers toinstall, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment. Knowledge of HVAC system is desired.Perform related work as assigned by supervisor. Accept individual responsibility andaccountability for environment, safety, health, and quality processes within personal control,personal safety, and the safety of co-workers. Comply with established regulations andprocedures for environment, safety, health, and quality and perform duties in a way that will notcause personal danger, endanger other individuals, or violate environment, safety, health, andquality regulations. Promptly correct or report any hazard or potential hazard to supervision.Understand the principles associated with the National Security Technologies, LLC (NSTec)safety concept. Participate in and embrace NSTec environment, safety, health, and qualityinitiatives.QUALIFICATIONSAssociate's degree or equivalent training and experience plus 4 years' of progressive relatedexperience or High School diploma or equivalent training and experience plus 6 years' ofprogressive related experience. Candidate must possess strong organizational skills, oral andwritten communication skills, and have the ability to manage multiple projects that involve bothcompany employees and subcontractors. Applicant should be fluent in Microsoft Officeapplications, to include: Word, Outlook, and Excel. Must be willing to carry a pager for emergencyrecall. Applicant must possess a valid driver's license . Department of Energy Q Clearance(position will be cleared to this level). Reviews and tests for the absence of any illegal drug asdefined in 10 CFR Part 707.4, "Workplace Substance Abuse Programs at DOE Sites," will beconducted.
