Lead Geospatial Analyst
Responsibilities Looking for a change? This position is full of variety and encompasses the collection, generation, and correction of project specific Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) data to include both raster and vector data types for use in Modeling and Simulation (M&S) systems and standard and experimental environmental standards models and architectures. This position will also provide an opportunity to work on extremely challenging projects, that could lead to future growth opportunities. The analyst will also be responsible for storage and management of data in accordance with on-site workflow and logical data management standards.The candidate will lead a team in the development of a geospatial data repository to support program objectives, and develop the capability to serve geospatial data to client applications. Qualifications Bachelors' Degree in Geography, GIS, IT or similar discipline plus 8 or more years of related work experience.Education and work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience.Must be a certified GIS Analyst or equivalent and have received formal training from an accredited institution. Proof of successful completion of a certification program is required. An active SECRET Clearance or be able to qualify for and maintain same. Must be TS/SCI eligible.Demonstrated familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS ArcInfo (ArcView) 10.xDemonstrated familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS ArcInfo extensions to include Spatial Analyst and 3D Analyst.Strong working knowledge of GIS concepts to include datum, projection systems, vector data analysis, ortho-rectification, remote sensing fundamentals, current geospatial data models, geospatial transformation, data generation techniques, geo-database creation and management, and applicable data interoperability standards.Ability to automate workflows in the terrain generation process.Demonstrated familiarity with Microsoft Office products.Solid communication skills, written and oral.Small team / task management experience.Ability to work independently and also as part of a team.Willingness to learn and ability to quickly adapt to new concepts, software and environments.Experience working at a customer site, with experience supporting DoD customers highly Desired.Masters' Degree in Geography, GIS, IT or similar discipline.Familiarity with advanced IT/IS concepts.Demonstrated familiarity of ERDAS Imagine or other similar raster production and analysis software.Prior military or operational support experience.GIS Analyst/Technician Certificate from an accredited institution.
