Responsibilities The primary responsibilities will be to perform Information System Security Officer (ISSO) tasks related to obtaining and maintaining accreditation of a multi-site system containing PCs and various hardware components (such as spectrum analyzers, switches, antennas, etc.). Duties will include all tasks related to implementation of security controls, continuous monitoring, maintaining documentation, and coordination with the cognizant security approving authorities to maintain system accreditation. Development of networking concepts and practical application of networked systems along with any required coordination will be necessary. Application of software updates, patches and PC hardening processes and techniques will be required to include modification of user privileges, review of audit logs, and manual application of anti-virus and security updates. In addition to ISSO roles and responsibilities, knowledge and application of basic software quality assurance tasks will be required. This includes testing and evaluating custom software applications and providing feedback and guidance on software improvements. It also includes maintaining software databases to include type, versions, and authorized usage.The applicant will have some independent interaction with customers and will provide input to project managers on programmatic and technical deliverables under guidance of more senior technical personnel. Provides input and support to intra-organizational proposal development efforts. May have some exposure to and provide some input to inter-organizational technical and business development activities. Qualifications Bachelor?s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of 5 years relevant work experience. Degree(s) must be in engineering, physics, computer science, mathematics or a related discipline. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 15 years of applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted based on education, or highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience for positions involving new technology or labor market shortages as reflected by market survey data. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Background in one or more of the following: computer security, cyber security methodology, IT risk management tools, certification and accreditation through ICD-503. Basic knowledge and understanding of RF components, hardware, and IT networks is preferred. Effective customer and organizational level communication, written, presentation and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of SCAP tools and application of, and compliance with, DISA STIG methodology. Familiarity with XACTA preferred.This position requires the applicant to have or be able to acquire a Top Secret/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
