Manage both data center equipment planning and hardware installations and implementations. Builds and generates reports for business and technology groups.KEY JOB FUNCTIONSLead and assess company-wide data center and IT infrastructure, evaluate rationalization opportunities, sourcing options (including cloud) and recommend strategic direction Develop and manage all centralized equipment placement, planning and provisioning for multiple data centers in compliance with policies and procedures. Continually streamline the Data Center Facilities (DCF) provisioning model. Oversee all IT Asset Management (ITAM) functions with regard to data center related assets throughout the asset lifecycle in line with Fannie Mae ITAM guidelines. Manage data center access control for all data centers and execute required quarterly access audits for all data center users. Lead implementation and migration to new data centers and IT infrastructure services including internal solutions and external services (including cloud). Lead development of enhancements to the data center computing transformation methodologies and contribute thought leadership content Lead the engineering of optimization of the monitoring and reporting tool set. Manage all DCF metric reporting, support equipment databases, equipment planning tools, corporate equipment audits, and technical recovery exercises. Oversee production of Operational dashboards for the Production support teams utilizing monitoring data and related CMDB asset information. Lead continuous improvement effort to stream line and reduce non-actionable alerts Report to senior management on the unit's production, activities, and efforts. Represent the unit as an expert or resource to cross-functional project or coordinating teams. Plan, document, and manage the performance of subordinate managers and/or staff. Provide for professional or technical growth through assignment, mentoring, or training. Plan and manage the unit's budget. Approve expenditures or budget transfers.EDUCATIONBachelor's Degree or equivalent requiredMINIMUM EXPERIENCE8 years of related experience IT infrastructure technology management & architecture with prior system/storage admin/engineering experience. Data center computing management with cloud services (IaaS) evaluation & implementationSPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLSExperience and understanding of servers, storage, virtualization, automation, high availability architecture, and data center computing transformation from strategy to design and implementationExperience and understanding of infrastructure automation and instrumentation, Database/application server architecture, networks, information securitySolid understanding of critical facilities infrastructure (mechanical, electrical)Solid understanding of data center best practices (hot aisle/cold aisle cabinet placement, power distribution, cabling)Understanding of physical security as access systems as they pertain to Data CentersPrior experience coordinating placement/restacking of equipment to balance power and coolingExperience managing Data Center Operational procedures with a goal of 100> uptimeAbility to act as the liaison between Facilities and Technology for Data Center Facility maintenanceSolid understanding of Enterprise monitoring and event aggregation for the infrastructure stack EMPLOYMENT As a condition of employment with Fannie Mae, any successful job applicant will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screen and to successfully complete a background investigation, which may also include a credit check for positions in some areas of our business.
