Manage the innovation pipeline from idea generation through concept development to business concept delivery by means of curation documentation and communication with various stakeholders towards ensuring the effective execution of the innovation process and the development of a vivid trusting and inclusive community of innovation Align innovation efforts to support broader QED functions such as business development and practice area activities Innovation Hub Management Manage the innovation pipeline from idea generation through concept development to business concept delivery including outreach and engagement with all QED staff in Washington India and in the field Ensure consistency completeness and comprehensiveness of innovation records as well as originators and contributors to idea conception and innovation development Drive and support the development implementation and application of innovation categorization and evaluation metrics for prioritization and decision making Document status progress decision points and decision rationale throughout the life cycle of innovation projects from idea conception to product development Communicate continuously and in a timely manner with appropriate stakeholders in the innovation process about status progress barriers requirements etc Maintain troubleshoot and upgrade the online innovation management system Collect data to answer innovation reference questions utilizing data visualization as relevant Perform innovation process instruction by training QED staff to use the innovation management system Tap into the wider innovation community to stay abreast of trends and best practices and integrate those into QEDa s processes as relevant Collect house and maintain QED archives of all QED generated innovations and related intellectual property and product development initiatives Promote innovation resources Prepare innovation bibliographies for requested QED project needs Utilize and maintain familiarity with a wide variety of electronic resources to answer reference questions assist QED staff and keep current in the library and information science profession Supervise innovation curation support staff as appropriate MEL Practice and Business Development Support Document innovation input to incremental strategic and transformational advancements in QEDs products services processes positioning or culture Collect compile and identify gaps in market and consumer research information from various sources and associate with appropriate innovation categories Provide surge support including drafting past performance reports and capability statements conducting capture research on potential partners competitors recruitment other stakeholders and strategies and managing technical strategy development Write capability statements around QEDa s innovation work Provide input into technical strategies regarding existing and potential QED innovations Develop technical strategy for innovation focused proposals Bachelor Degree required Masters Degree in international development international relations business or relevant field preferred Minimum of years performing program operations for USAID and other donor funded projects preferred including knowledge of USAID processes and program implementation Knowledge of international development monitoring evaluation and learning and or strategic management Overseas experience a plus Demonstrated competence in Collecting categorizing analyzing and managing information resources towards effective retrieval and appropriate referencing Superior communication skills towards building relationships and trust with varying QED audiences including senior leadership Communicating with internal and external customers through strong organized writing and verbal communication and presentation skills Common sense and creative problem solving skills to arrive at elegant yet effective solutions to complicated problems Supporting the development of metrics for prioritizing projects Familiarity with Design Thinking Rapid Prototyping and Storytelling for innovation development and consensus building Familiarity with Intellectual Property management advantageous Computer usage and software including word processing spreadsheet project management database and Windows Managing and organizing work Staff management including mentoring guiding motivating and evaluating Superior ability to read and interpret written material including the recognition of technical terms and jargon Setting specific goals and priorities
