If you are interested in a IT Specialist (Customer Support) position, this job is for you! You will be a valued team member who is responsible for a variety of assignments necessary to support customers' use of network desktop systems, analyzing problems and determining the appropriate action, configuring and installing desktop systems.
A candidate appointed at a lower grade level may be promoted up to the full performance level without further competition.

To qualify for this position, you must meet the basic professional requirements or specialized experience requirement below.
To qualify at the GS-9 level, you must possess one year of specialized experience related to the duties of the position that was comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-7 grade level. Specialized experience is defined as experience diagnosing routine system problems by analyzing issues; providing routine advice/guidance regarding administrative and/or technical matters related to IT programs and/or services. In addition to the specialized experience described above, you must have IT related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Experience may be paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentation; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
GS-9: Applicant must have a Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree OR (2) full years of progressively higher level education leading to a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree.
Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management OR degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
NOTE: Your resume must clearly show the specialized experience and competencies related to this position. Failure to demonstrate how you possess the experience requirements will result in an "Ineligible" rating.
If you are claiming education as any part of your qualification for this position, you must submit an official transcript, unofficial transcript, or a list including courses, grades earned, completion dates, and quarter semester hours earned. If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show that the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program.
