JOB TITLE:  Payroll Supervisor

Location - International Pension Fund-Washington DC

Non-Bargaining 

Qualifications:

BS/BA degree in accounting or related business degree preferred. Minimum of five years of payroll experience, with payroll tax report preparation skills.

Responsibilities:

. Coordinates the payroll functions for IPF, IPF-Canada and

Retirement Savings Plan.

. Works closely with Customer Service Team Leader to ensure

optimal utilization of resources; analyzes and makes recommendations regarding workflow.

. Assist with payroll planning and scheduling, internal

control design and review, quality control measures and improvements to policies and procedures.

. Produce the monthly operating and financial reports for

tracking monthly benefit payments.

. Generate, review and produce award letters for benefit

approval and recalculations.

. Ensure that each payroll is submitted timely and accurately

to Wells Fargo and is in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.

. Coordinates various aspects relating to the electronic

transfer of pension payments.

. Conducts monthly audit of payroll which includes deceased

participants.

. Prepare and transmit monthly RSP applicant approval file to

be sent to Comerica for payment.

.                Prepare and review payroll reports and / or data for

various analyses and reconciliations.

. Plan and process payroll year-end checklist items such as

preparation of 1099's, year-end system processing and any other items pertaining to year-end.

.Provide payroll information to external auditors and

actuaries at year-end.

.Communicates with Basys to effectively resolve any issues

that may arise with the payroll system.

. Takes telephone calls from pensioners, their beneficiaries

and local representatives to assist with payment of benefits.

. Works on special projects as assigned by Fund office

executives.

.Other duties as assigned.

Experience:

.Candidate must be self-motivated, responsible, and have a

strong payroll background.

. Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level

of attention to detail and accuracy.

. Strong organizational skills, and the ability to work under

pressure and meet tight deadlines.

.Excellent skills using Microsoft Office Products and

Internet Explorer for follow-up research.

. Have ability to communicate effectively, orally and in

writing.

.Have working knowledge of Ultipro and Basys payroll;

knowledge of Excel spreadsheet also required.
