In support of the Human Systems Department, at various locations in support of the Naval Air Systems Command located in Patuxent River, Maryland, RED-INC seeks qualified Aviation Structural Mechanic Egress Technician within the Aircrew Oxygen Systems Fleet Support Team (AOSFST) and NAWCAD AIR competency to provide technical support applying survival systems knowledge and skills to support teams and programs by providing assessments of Oxygen Systems, Personal Survival Ensembles and Aircraft  Integrated Systems technical performance, mission suitability and risks throughout the process and life cycle of the programs under test.

The Aviation Structural Mechanic Egress Technician position shall be responsible to be independent and responsible for planning and coordination, preparation and dissemination of project documentation; such as; test schedules, data acquisition, data downloads, and equipment installation and modifications to ensure customer requirements are met and exceeded.  Reviews data to determine documentation required for each phase of projects, applies knowledge of Aviation Survival Equipment processes.  Analyzes any proposed changes of items under test to determine the effects on the overall system. The candidate will coordinate and manage modification records and configuration control. The candidate will assist in the technical development, review, and/or release of the following types of documentation within the Aircrew Oxygen System Fleet Support Team; Support Plans, Test Plans, Support Summaries, System Plans, Navy Technical Manuals / Functionally Oriented Maintenance Manuals.  The candidate will possess an understanding / knowledge and capability in the following tasking areas: Review and/or interpretation of data to develop system documentation; Development, Review and submission of Allowance Lists; Development and review and submit Compliance and Certification forms and history records; review and submit maintenance records, repair and overhaul work files, comply with documented Government Furnished Equipment / Government Furnished Information (GFE/GFI). Requires ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure, fast passed environment. Successful candidates will possess strong organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; excellent written/verbal communication skills are required. Experience working in a team-oriented; collaborative environment is also required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducts planning, scheduling, execution, and comprehensive analysis across the spectrum of systems under test.
  • Conducts, supervises and directs independent activities of a designated Aviation Structural Mechanic Egress Technician in the performance of project assignments in support of the Aircrew Oxygen Systems Fleet Support Team and AIR engineering efforts and operational fleet support activities.
  • Provides Aviation Structural Mechanic Egress Technician operational planning and management for scheduling, execution, and support system effectiveness and analysis, studies, and evaluations in support of test systems and survival equipment.

The successful candidates shall have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering field.  In lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree; senior level candidates shall have a minimum of 15 years of experience in Aviation Structural Mechanic Egress Technician support and maintenance and operational management within the Organizational and Intermediate Levels of Maintenance.  Senior level candidates shall have a minimum of 6 years of demonstrated supervisory and management experience and acquisition support experience. Mid-level candidates shall have a minimum of 10 years of experience and shall have at least 4 years of demonstrated supervisory and management experience.  U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance are required.  Positions are contingent upon award.
