COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATOR (Temp part time 16 hours per week)
The Community Health Department of Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is seeking a TEMPORARY PART TIME Community Health Educator to work an average of 12 - 16 hours per week. This is a grant funded position through June 2018 to implement and coordinate the CATCH Program (Coordinated Approach to Child Heath) in Charlottesville and surrounding communities.
Please Note: This position does not have benefits.
Candidates need to be flexible with the hours they are available to work and may be scheduled day shift, some evenings and weekends. Seeking candidates with a background in education and/or group facilitation, knowledge of childhood obesity prevention, physical activity and proper nutrition, good administrative skills related to scheduling, ability to engage a diverse population of stakeholders. Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience required per the Grant.
Engages in health promotion activities and implements best practice public health strategies and interventions to promote health and well-being. Develops and presents educational programs; educations patients/clients on disease self-management and health behavior change strategies; promotes disease prevention and early detection; provides guidance on available resources.
