The Role: The Process Technician is a critical member of the Manufacturing Reliability Fundamentals and the Factory Mars Operating System (MRF/FMOS) Area Leadership Team. The Process Technician is responsible for developing the teams technical understanding and mastery of process control and is the Transition owner for an assigned area of the organization. The Process Technician manages the Area Event Data Systems, leads process definition to identify Transition targets, documents standards, and develops control strategies to enable operators to respond to out of control situations. They also analyze line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities, leads root-cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for their area of responsibility and coach teams on Transition execution and problem solving skills. Process Technicians must effectively facilitate team meetings and communicate issues within an area across shifts. The On-Shift Process Technician is considered a Subject Matter Expert around Daily Management Systems (DMS) like Cleaning Inspection Lubrication (CIL), Centerlines (CLs), and Transitions in the assigned area. The On-Shift Process Technician supports the Area Leadership Team in upskilling and training associates across all shifts. Responsibilities: Owns integrity of Line Event Data Systems (LEDS). Analyzes line data to identify and prioritize loss elimination opportunities. Leads process definition to identify Transition targets and document standards. Facilitates the Line Loss Analysis (Process Reliability Current and Future State). Trains and coaches team on Transition DMS. Ensures Transition improvement targets are achieved. Coaches teams on Transition execution and problem solving skills. Leads root cause problem solving efforts on key chronic losses for the line/department. Participates in execution of planned stops. Provides performance data for selected machines and communicates action plans and completed work effectively. Develops control strategies to enable operators to respond to out of control situations. Works with Process Engineer and Team Leads to ensure that all Area, Line and Departmental metrics are achieved. Leads MRF/Process improvement teams as assigned. On-Shift Process Technicians develop and maintain Daily Management System expert level for related equipment and coaches and trains others on this equipment. On-Shift Process Technicians support the Area Leadership Team in upskilling and training associates on manufacturing operations Education/Experience: 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing at Mars or Associates Degree in Engineering, Supply, Business or technical field of study and 2 years experience in a TPM/technical, manufacturing environment. Preferred: Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Supply, Business or technical field of study or 4 years of experience in a TPM/technical, manufacturing environment. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated experience in leading change and situational leadership. Clear ability to relate to and motivate people and effectively train. Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proficient in MS Office and SAP.
