Assistant Restaurant Manager
Upon entering Vasilis Kitchen, guests are whisked away to Greece through the unrivaled ambiance, unparalleled hospitality and fresh tastes of the carefully sourced farm-to-table ingredients served. The menu, characterized by Mediterranean inspired recipes with creative modern interpretations, has been carefully designed by Greek celebrity chef, Yiannis Lucacos. Lucacos, also a restaurateur, brings his expertise to the table by crafting a menu that explores the Vasilis experience of sustainability, creativity and hospitality. In order to bring this vision to life, we're looking for an Assistant Manager who is able to exert grace under pressure to ensure that guests always feel welcome and that they are receiving your undivided attention. As an Assistant Manager of our restaurant, your main goal is to entice the guests to explore the menu, broaden their palate, and convey the true essence of Greek hospitality. We will be selecting individuals who meet these criteria and also represent themselves and our restaurant in a neat and professional manner. The Assistant Manager is responsible for coordinating and participating in, along with the General Manager, all day to day operations of the restaurant. Assistant Managers support all team members during their shift, and complete various activities and responsibilities to ensure safe, professional and effective operations. Responsibilities include hiring, scheduling, training, motivating, and terminating team members. The Assistant Manager directs and guides customer service and works to resolve customer complaints. The Assistant Manager maintains and upholds budgets, oversees cleaning and maintenance of equipment and facilities, ensures staff is adhering to food safety guidelines, and maintains Vasili's Kitchen standards for high quality, fresh ingredients and extraordinary customer service.Qualifications: Education: Undergraduate degree (bachelor's), preferably in Hospitality.Experience: Three years of prior experience in an up-scale, fine dining restaurant. Knowledge of service standards, food and beverage controls, and operational efficiencies is important.Physical: Applicants must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, and able to lift up to 50 pounds.Work Schedule: Weekend and evening hour availability is a must. You will be required to work between 35-50 hours each week.
