POSITION SUMMARY: This Program Support Manager position will manage and be accountable for cost and work schedules and delivery of services on Government and commercial contracts as a conduit between on-site management, the customer and Valbin Headquarters. The POM will oversee a 106-FTE linguist contract for a DoD/IC customer. Place of work is Bethesda MD adjacent to the Bethesda METRO stop and with pay parking available. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Coordinate contract tasks and mission support with the on-site Contract or Task Order Program Manager (TOPM). Collaborate with HQs-level upper management and other office PMO staff (Security, HR, Recruiting, Accounting, BD) to fulfill contract requirements and maintain superior technical performance. Coordinate issues among the corporate HQs staff to support forward-based personnel. Identify resources needed and develop solutions to sustain contract performance. Manage corporate day-to-day contract activities providing responsive support to on-site management and linguists. Review deliverables prepared by team before their formal submission to client. Maintain manual and automated records using database software to assist preparation of accurate invoices. Recruit and screen applicants to process candidates for employment. Sustain 100% manpower requirement levels for this 100+ FTE contract. Coordinate employee training and language proficiency testing to meet contract and corporate requirements. Advocate for the on-site PM to obtain resources and provide solutions. Provide situational awareness of major issues and activities to the Headquarters staff and leadership. Accomplish other duties as required. Coordinate employee pre-deployment activities in preparation for their assignments/travel overseas to AFG and other specified Theaters of Operation. REQUIRED SKILLS 4-5 years management experience directly supervising employees Excellent written and verbal communication skills capable of corresponding clearly and effectively with peers, senior management, prospective applicants and clients Flexible working with other cultures, team oriented while maintaining a positive attitude Experience with government or commercial contracts as a previous PM, deputy program manager or program officer Detail oriented and ambitious to learn new skills Strong proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to create and maintain automated databases Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment Ability to work under pressure and can handle stress PREFERRED SKILLS Prior experience in the US Military; deployed assignments overseas a plus Prior experience supporting management of government contracts with the Department of Defense, members of the Intelligence Community PMP, CAPM or other project management certification Proficiency with MS Access and Project Previous experience as a Linguist or working in support of linguistics
