Login Now Senior Database Architect Job Code: EDW X04 Org 1 P&L = VA FT/PT Status: Regular Full Time Description: AbleVets, LLC, is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Senior Database Architect to support healthcare information technology projects for our customers. This position is located on-site with the customer in their Washington, DC office.Essential Functions and Job ResponsibilitiesThe Senior Database Architect will be responsible for the content and development of critical software design artifacts, such as System Design documents, Database Design documents, and Interface Control documents. The successful candidate will establish effective working relationships with teams, peers, and management through contributions provided in team settings, working groups, and committees. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:*Developing and implementing complex database designs*Developing complex backend codes using PL/SQL*Performing unit testing*Following configuration management processes*Creating and maintaining documentation, such as standard operating procedures and technical specifications*Providing on-call support and responding to incidents, eg service outages, response time issues, and database restores Minimum Requirements: *Bachelor's degree in computer science, electronics engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline*At least 7 years of Oracle development experience following coding standards and design and performance best practices*At least 3 years of experience with Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition 11g (OBIEE)*Strong understanding of database design and schemas*Understanding of data warehousing and business intelligence disciplines*Experience with Oracle Application Servers and Oracle tool*Experience with Linux operating systems*Familiarity with database architecture, configuration, relational database design, and implementation of security controls, PL/SQL, triggers, and procedures in Oracle*Self-starter that can work independently under general direction in a highly collaborative, team-based environment*Outstanding communication skills*U.S. Citizenship is required as is successfully passing a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting Desired Qualifications: *Previous Department of Veterans Affairs experience*IBM Rational toolset experience*Knowledge of SAS, Informatica, and Tableau
