Nationwide environmental consulting firm headquartered in Bethesda, MD, is seeking an IT Manager with responsibility for the company's IT and communications infrastructure.  This position is focused on the internal functionality of the company: the company plans to maintain a currently ongoing relationship with an IT Consulting firm that will be available to assist with critical IT situations, new developments, and planned system upgrades. The roles and responsibilities of the IT Manager will therefore include implementing the overall IT strategy; architecting hardware and software solutions; purchasing IT hardware; implementing communications agreements; software licensing; configuring hardware for networks and individuals. In addition, maintaining a strong and resilient remote access system for employees and clients; and, maintaining and protecting the integrity,  availability, and reliability of the company's data resources. The successful candidate will have thorough knowledge of Windows Server and end user operating systems; demonstrable ability to troubleshoot and solve complex system problems; firm understanding of communication and firewall security; experience managing software licensing and administration, purchasing hardware, and preparing and communicating procedures for end users.
