H-1 Systems Engineer
As a Systems Engineer for the H-1 WSSA, incumbent will report directly to task lead for AH-1Z/UH-1Y tasking, and work collaboratively as part of team, to: estimate, plan, execute, and report on assigned tasking.
Essential Job Functions:
Integrate hardware/software avionics solutions into AH-1Z/UH-1Y from initial specifications, to final Fleet release and maintenance.
Develop hardware and software integration test requirements
Determine, analyze, and document software deficiencies and report test results
Develop integrated, sustainable, and high-quality H-1 products, which meet agreed upon requirements.
Support management planning by providing input, creating and/or reviewing plans (e.g., roadmap development, program resource needs, SEMP).
Review documentation and prepare for milestone reviews/presentations.
Support program planning reviews, meetings and milestone events.
Lead and participate in H-1 WSSA Statement of Reqirements (SOR) Team activities.
Coordinate with vendors, and provide Fleet support.
Define system hardware installation, and software and operational requirements.
Ensure requirements traceability is maintained between design, installation, and test.
Manage and negotiate changes to requirements and design, and define and manage subsystem interfaces.
Follow defined H-1 processes, and ensure product quality.
Communicate status, issues and internal or external product risks.

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance for the duration of employment.
A Bachelor's degree plus 5 years of experience or a Masters plus 4 years is required.
A broad knowledge of software and hardware integration issues to practically apply solutions.
Understanding of the systems engineering discipline and processes, and achievement of technical requirements and their applicability to H-1 WSSA projects.
Working knowledge of 1553 protocol, and data reduction/analysis.
Experience with military aircraft and their maintenance, hardware and software modifications, systems verification, and platforms utility. Prior success developing aircraft modifications, plans, procedures, and reports.
Proven proficiency of MS office tools, proficiency in Excel.
Understanding of the Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process and/or Software Life Cycle process (SLCP)
Proficiency with DOORs and/or Serena Dimensions databases.
Organization and flexibility, as well as ability to work rapidly, accurately, and efficiently in a fast-paced engineering environment.
Ability to prioritize and manage concurrent tasks.
Ability to work independently, as well as with others. Understanding when collaboration and communication can result in better decisions.
