This is a permanent position with Headquarters, US Army Corps of Engineers, Directorate of Civil Works, Engineering and Construction Division located at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) Building; 441 G. Street NW, Washington, D.C. 20314.
Civil Works' Mission and Vision: Dedicated to providing quality, responsive service to the nation in peace and war. The Directorate of Civil Works is a major component of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The Civil Works programs include water resource development activities including flood risk management, navigation, recreation, and infrastructure and environmental stewardship. Our mission also includes emergency response.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: serving as the focal point for administrative policies and procedures; establishing administrative office procedures to ensure compliance with regulations for daily operations; utilizing a variety of automated transmittal systems for labor purposes, government credit card purchases, travel orders, training request, purchase of office supplies, etc.; and providing clerical administrative support in managing an organization with high visibility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:
