POLICE RECORDS SPECIALIST

This position is located at the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES)-Provost Marshal Office (PMO), located at FT Belvoir, VA.
Situated on the Potomac River, Fort Belvoir, Virginia is conveniently located outside the Washington, D.C. beltway and is accessible via I-95 and Route 1. Richmond Highway Express (REX) Metro bus line services Fort Belvoir. Fort Belvoir offers many amenities such as free parking, child care services, gymnasiums, financial institutions, U.S. Post Office, education center, food concessions, chapels, etc.
This position is under Career Program 29 Installation Management.

Experience required: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: coordinating with various law enforcement activities to maintain police records case documentation; managing and maintaining performance evaluation systems; managing various administrative processes (time and attendance, travel reconciliations) using automated systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency (knowledge, skills, abilities) in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the second lower grade (or equivalent).
