The United States Marshals Service is the nation's oldest and most versatile federal law enforcement agency. The missions of the Service include protection of the judiciary, court security, witness security, asset seizure and forfeiture, apprehension of fugitives, prisoner transportation and custody.

Selectee(s) will receive a career or career-conditional appointment in the competitive service and may be required to serve a one year probationary period.
The incumbent serves as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist (Security) responsible for ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of classified and/or unclassified systems, networks, and data through the planning, analysis, development, implementation, maintenance, and enhancement of information systems security programs, policies, procedures, and tools.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: To be considered minimally qualified for this position, you must demonstrate that you meet the following requirements for the position:
In order to qualify for the position all applicants must meet the following Basic Requirement for the position.Have information technology related experience demonstrating each of the four required competencies: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. AND 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. (This experience must be demonstrated on your resume/supporting documents.)
In addition, all applicants must meet the following Specialized Experience. Note: One year of specialized experience is based on a 40-hour work week. If you have worked less than 40 hours per week, you must prorate your experience.
Have at least one year of full-time (12-months) specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service that included the following: 1) Developing IT security policies or procedures to ensure information system reliability and accessibility; 2) Establishing or monitoring security information and event management (SIEM) IT systems for an organization; 3) Providing IT security technical advice, guidance, or assistance to management; AND 4) Planning and delegating IT security work to be accomplished by subordinates
