Coordinate and oversee the relocation of residents from their current unit into another DCHA-owned unit or other unit assisted by tenant-based assistance in accordance with the approved  Relocation Plan. Explain the relocation process and other personal issues related to the move; inform residents of their housing options;  conduct a one-on-one relocation survey of each affected family to determine the specific needs of the family tailored to satisfy the Part 970 Relocation Requirements; assist the residents in evaluating and selecting housing options; assist the residents such that they receive payment for costs directly related to their relocation; develop an individual relocation plan based on the household relocation assessment survey; utilize the individualized relocation plan to present comparable, decent, safe and sanitary housing options to each resident household; and act as an advocate for each family throughout the relocation process. Participate in regularly scheduled supervision, site meetings, and community meetings.  Maintain records consistent with Part 970 Relocation Requirements and URA best practices.  Supervise Relocation Specialist.   REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND ATTRIBUTES: Experience working in social services or a related field; good knowledge of the local community and population; familiarity with local social agencies available; ability to effectively use computer applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, calendar, e-mail and database software; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. BSW or related field preferred
