Electronics Technicians are responsible for all of the Satellite Communications; Microwave; or terrestrial equipment. Personnel are required to maintain and install all level 1/2 (physical/data link) layer equipment. All outages; changes and inventory updates must be coordinated with the Customer and update associated documentation provided to OGS. General tasks: ' Long Haul Communications Management; monitoring; and sustainment ' Compliance with all associated guidance and directives in the Special instructions to Communicators (SINC) ' Compliance with all associated DoD; Customer; associated COCOMs; and local Instructions ' Use standard Customer reporting systems to report and track all local and enterprise issues associated with Network and Systems Operations Skill sets required: ' Maintain and install all long haul communications equipment. ' Look angle calculation ' Frequency request and compliance ' Dish setup; and verification of link establishment ' Operation and interpretation of spectrum analyzer data Responsible Equipment: ' NorSAT ' TriBand ' SweDish ' Other VSAT terminals ' All associated Modems ' iDirect 5300 series ' COMTECH slim 5650 ' Global SatCOM antenna ' GBS ' DMIGS (Ku and C Band) ' MIGS-II (TROJAN LITE) Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science; Engineering or a related technical discipline. Qualifications 5-8 years of related hardware engineering experience. 3 or more years experience as a SATCOM technician with experience in long haul terrestrial communications.
