Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction. Candidate will be part of a 24x7 Security Operations Center. Performs security event monitoring and event correlation using ArcSight; Juniper and Open Source Tools to detect and respond to security events. Monitors external CSIRTS/CERTs for latest threats. Implements threat mitigation strategies as directed. Employs common communications mediums to execute security incident response procedures. Performs routine event reporting and trending analysis as directed. Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline; or the equivalent combination of education; professional training or work experience. Qualifications Requires 0-2 years of IT experience or a demonstrated technical capability in systems and networking fundamentals; or related experience. SOC experience with security analytical capabilities highly desired. Requires in depth knowledge of the relationships between IT systems; clients; servers and networking infrastructure. Must demonstrate expert knowledge of TCP-IP protocol implementations for all common network services. Unix/Linux command-line experience highly desired. Direct experience with SNORT/Arcsight and open source security tools desired. Knowledge of enterprise security architecture and best practices desired. Direct experience interfacing with customers in service desk environment highly desired. Experience with securing VoIP assets desired.
