We are seeking highly motivated engineers with a thirst for learning, in support a geographically dispersed, state of the art systems, that seamlessly integrate Linux and Microsoft services.   Positions will provide engineering support to multiple WAN connected sites, with data flows crossing various controlled interfaces, and will follow specific IT project management and engineering lifecycle processes.   Engineers will be responsible for supporting their solutions throughout the IT project lifecycle, to include refining requirements, creating design documentation, creating installation instructions and deployment plans, and providing O&M support.  Project assignments will vary based on skill level, and may include engineering geographically dispersed services, integrating services into public, private and hybrid cloud environments, engineering solutions to be deployed via automated CM tools, and hardening the solutions to address security and SCAP compliance. 

  

This position will involve worldwide travel, as well as on-call support.

 

GDIT duties may include:

1. Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems. 2. Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems. 3. Sets up administrator and service accounts. 4. Maintains system documentation 5. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. 6. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. 7. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. 8. May program in an administrative language. 9. Develops and implements testing strategies and document results. 10. Provides advice and training to end-users.  11. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.  12. Participates in special projects as required.

 

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Qualifications 2-5 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.

 

Candidates should have experience with these job functions:

  1. Engineers with experience creating Windows desktop and server builds, and hardening to meet STIG and SCAP compliance
  2. Experience with automating application and package deployments using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
  3. Experience with System Center Operations Manager (SCOM)
  4. Experience Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 or later
  5. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), to include AD replication and Group Policy Object management
  6. Experience with Veritas NetBackup
 This position requires the candidate to be able to lift 75lbs.
