Special Operations Plans Officer
*This is a contingent requisitionThe Special Operations Plans Officer directly supports the Director of the Strategic and Plans Directorate, CJ5. Assists in the development of suitable, feasible, acceptable, and complete special operations plans. Helps ensure doctrinal employment and effective integration of special operations forces (SOF) and conventional forces. Participates in, and contributes to campaign assessments, force structure planning, Global Force management, and operational plans team meetings with a planning horizon that generally stretches from 90 days to five years out from the present. Assists in the accomplishment of campaign plan specific goals as specified by the COR. Education Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
- Must have received an honorable discharge as verified by a form DD-214 (U.S. Military). Personnel who have been discharged with a characterization of “General under other than honorable”, “Bad Conduct”, or “Dishonorable” are disqualified from this position.Possess a military background with three (3) or more years as a Future Operations Planner in a J5 or G5 directorate as a planner, or U.S. Army Strategist or service equivalent within a theater special operations command including Army Division, Corps, Geographic Combatant Command, or Joint Special Operations Command and having achieved the grade of O5 or above higher.Citizen of the United States
- Computer skills including MS Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) and Internet Explorer.Ability to respond rapidly and sufficiently to changing requirements, unexpected contingencies and other challenging situations.Ability to manage available resources in time sensitive situations.Excellent oral and written communications skills.Fluent in English.
