Apply system level communications engineering expertise and provide pre-sales and post-sales technical consultancy to Customer Solutions Engineering (CSE) and the Global Sales organization. Help engineers identify customer needs and design technical and operational solutions adapted to these needs and customer perceived risks. Support other internal groups (e.g. Product Management, Corporate Strategy, etc.) by developing innovative, creative and strategic solutions focused on Intelsat's business drivers. 


You must have the following to be considered for this role:

  • This position requires ITAR access; all candidates must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents.
  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, physics, math or equivalent required
  • At least five years of relevant experience
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 20% of the time
  • A thorough understanding of the cost drivers of hybrid satellite/ground solutions
  • Good understanding of satellite operations, satellite design & manufacturing, communications operations and the sales process
  • Good understanding of satellite infrastructure and operations, communications system architecture, satcoms vendor platform technology, network traffic and sizing models
  • Knowledge of digital satellite network architectures; broadcast video distribution technologies, mobility services, VSAT platforms
  • IP networking knowledge
  • Strong organization, communication, and interpersonal skills with ability to pro-actively engage with regional Sales support, Sales, Product and other departments
  • Demonstrable negotiation skills focused on collaborative win-win solutions
  • Ability to make optimal decisions working with diverse internal and external customers under real time conditions


The following are considered preferable:

  • Experience in Customer Solutions Engineering or another Sales Engineering function


Job details:

  • Provide high level technical support to regional Customer Solutions Engineering (CSE) teams, serving as a liaison between CSE and Product Management for standard and non-standard solutions for strategic customer accounts and new business opportunities
  • Build and communicate proposals and value messaging around Intelsat solutions and service offerings across target market applications
  • Act as the technical liaison by coordinating activities across departments and demonstrating teamwork by full interaction and collaboration with other stakeholder groups
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management and Corporate Strategy to drive innovation and technical development to enhance service products offered on Intelsat's existing and future assets)
  • Provide system level engineering expertise to regional CSE teams and support complex / leading edge link budget and network analysis
