General Summary: Under general supervision, but followingestablished policies and procedures, is responsible for processing andunderwriting Consumer Loan products that originate from the Internet. Possess asolid understanding of the Consumer Loan products, policies and underwritingguidelines. Ensures that external andinternal members receive prompt and courteous service. Must have a "can do"positive attitude. Must be able to effectively communicate with members via thephone and/or e-mail. Must have great service skills, possess a sense of urgencyand confidence and skillfully identify member service opportunities. Must beable to work a flexible schedule. Must possess excellent interpersonalcommunication skills and the ability to represent the credit union in acourteous, professional manner. Responsibilities:Provides friendly, professional, prompt, efficientand accurate service in the processing of all transactions. Cross-sells credit union products andservices to members.Processes member loan applications for allConsumer Loans that are originated by the Internet and or by staff member. Processing activities include, but are notlimited to: verification of income/employment, debts, assets, calculation ofunsecured debt to adjusted gross income ratio, review and verification ofcredit report data, obtaining explanations of derogatory credit, obtainingadditional information requested by Loan Officer, etc. Responsible for ensuring that allapplications are acted upon promptly, and are complete, including preparationand issuance of required disclosures, etc. . Informs members of necessary informationrequired to complete loan applications. Completes loan requests by telephoneand prepares for review by Loan Officer, including recommendation for finalunderwriting. Prepares loandocumentation for approved loans in accordance with established procedures. Processes approved loans, reviewsdocumentation, inputs information.Performs a variety of loan support dutieswhich require knowledge of such departmental procedures such as calculatingcash disbursed figures and debt ratios, verifying payroll deduction forms,processing loan payment change forms and issuing loans as directed by ConsumerLending Assistant Manager.Receives and handles communications regardingmember loans. Provides accurateinformation to members regarding credit union services, products, policies andprocedures. Advises members of federalregulations applicable to these policies and procedures. Resolves member complaints and correctserrors.Prepares, delivers, and files all requiredloan documentation and disclosures. Prepares Adverse Action forms when necessary and provides them tomembers within established time frames, and prepares a copy for scanning to themember's file. Contacts the member byphone and advises them of the lending decision.Researches and investigates member inquiriessuch as paid loans and lien placement necessary documentation and releases.Performs duties and responsibilities inaccordance with The Apple Way principles, of Team Up, Inspire Promoters,Challenge Yourself and Own It.Remainscognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, andregulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act. Performsother consumer lending support-related duties as assigned by the ConsumerLending Assistant Manager or Director of Consumer Lending. Qualifications-all required unless otherwisenoted:High school degree or equivalent(GED). Two years Consumer Lendingexperience preferred. Must understand consumer lendingproducts, policies and underwriting guidelines as well as federalregulations. Excellent interpersonalcommunication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks andprovide courteous and timely member service and work on a high-functioningteam. Ability to identify opportunitiesand cross-sell credit union products and services. PC proficient, including MS OfficeSuite (Excel, Word). Excellent attention to detail andwritten and verbal communication skills, ability to self-motivate and contributeto the team. Ability to function in a financialinstitution office environment and utilize standard office equipment includingbut not limited to: PC, fax, copier, telephone, etc. Satisfactory credit andbackground.
