General Summary:Undergeneral supervision, but following established policies and procedures,performs a variety of semi-complex and routine accounting and clerical dutiesin the accounting department to support ACH activity. Receives, sorts, and proofs accountingdocuments, posts totals to the general ledger, performs arithmeticcalculations, reviews internal records and reconciles accounts, and performsother related duties. Responds toquestions and/or provides information upon request from members. Processes requests/transactions, asappropriate. Assists members andpotential members in understanding and utilizing credit union products andservices.Responsibilities:Responsiblefor daily process of Commercial ACH. Process ACH files and ACH returns via FedAdvantage. Correct ACH exception items and creatingmember record lookups when necessary. Responsiblefor processing ACH affidavits, stop payments, tran codes, returns and reclamationson a daily basis. Providebackup and support for ACH Specialists. Develop,manage and participate in department operational projects.Responsiblefor auditing and verifying GL accounts and various subsidiary ledgers to assureaccuracy and legitimacy of recorded transactions on a monthly basis. Responsiblefor receiving ongoing training on ACH Rules and Regulations through seminarsand official manuals. Update andmaintain internal department operating manual.Performsduties and responsibilities in accordance with The Apple Way principles, ofTeam Up, Inspire Promoters, Challenge Yourself and Own It.Remainscognizant of and adheres to credit union policies and procedures, andregulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.Performsother Accounting/processing duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.Qualifications-all required unless otherwisenoted:High school diploma or equivalent(GED). Requires AAP (Accredited ACHProfessional) certification. Minimum three years of Accountingexperience and some college level accounting courses desired.Experience with financialinstitution ACH/payroll policies and procedures required. Excellent math ability and attentionto detail. PC proficient including MS Excel andWord. Excellent interpersonal,problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to function in a financialinstitution branch environment and utilize standard office equipment includingbut not limited to: PC, fax, copier,telephone, etc. Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.(file boxes).Satisfactory credit andbackground. Hours: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
