Tracking Code 1761-683 Job Description PURPOSE: Actively participate in the full life cycle of business analysis / requirements gathering, developing, and implementing Enterprise Data Warehouse Solutions. The BI Developer is responsible for the successful delivery of business intelligence information to the entire organization and is experienced in BI development and implementations, data architecture and data warehousing. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Development Life Cycle Extensive understanding of functional business areas supported.Strong analytical skills to solve and model complex business requirementsUnderstanding and ability to impellent industry standard modeling techniques.Sound understanding of BI Best Practices/Methodologies, relational structures, dimensional data modeling, structured query language (SQL) skills, data warehouse and reporting techniquesHands on experience in relational and multi-dimensional data modeling, including multiple source systems from databases and flat files, and the use of standard data modeling tools, preferably the Microsoft BI Stack.Hands on ETL development experience, preferably using SSISDevelop training and documentation for end-users as neededCreating star schema data models, performing ETLs and validating results with business representativesSupporting implemented BI solutions by: monitoring and tuning queries and data loads, addressing user questions concerning data integrity, monitoring performance and communicating functional and technical issues. TeamworkAbility to collaborate on a team with infrastructure, BI report development and business analyst resources, and clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical team membersAdd value to the team through constructive involvement.Foster and maintain good relationships with team members and clients.Acknowledge and appreciate other member's contributions to the team. LeadershipDirect Project management of Data Warehouse Solutions QUALIFICATIONS: Education and ExperienceUndergraduate Degree in Information Systems (IS) or Information Technology (IT); extensive work experience may be considered in lieu of education. An advanced degree is preferred.Technical certifications or additional relevant training a plus.3 - 5 years of experience in a medium complex data warehouse environment, hands-on Data warehousing project experience and experience in full life cycle Business Intelligence development, implementation, tuning and support using the Microsoft BI Stack. 7 plus years of experience with large scale systems development / solutions requiring advanced SQL Server database and Microsoft VB or .Net design / management may be considered in lieu of BI development experience.Experience with Microsoft SQL Server at an advanced level is required.Experience with SRSS and SSAS is required.Experience with ETL/DBA tools is preferred (SSIS, SSMS, Visual Studio).Experience with MDX is preferred.SkillsExpert knowledge of Line of Business applications and how they are applied within the organization.Understanding and ability to use Project Management practicesAbility to remain organized through high workload volumes with multiple priorities.Excellent time management skills and ability to meet assigned deadlines.Ability to analyze causes of and implement solutions to technical and system issues.Capable of interpreting and developing technical instructions, diagrams, statistical reports and financial documents.Ability to apply mathematical operations in such areas as financial, transactional and statistical analysis.Ability and aptitude to learn new development concepts PHYSICAL DEMANDS:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. Lifting requirements are typically less than 20 pounds on an infrequent basis. WORKING ENVIRONMENT:Typically works in an office environment or occasionally on or around the manufacturing or sales floor. The noise level is usually moderate to high and hearing protection may be required on the production floor. Safety glasses are required on the production floor. Hours are varied and may include after-hours or weekend work to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. Some travel may be required.
