Clearance: TS/SCI Required

Location: Robins AFB, GA

    GDIT is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to provide technical expertise to the AF DCGS Program Management Office (PMO). The PMO is responsible for assessing requirements, assisting in the development and review of designs developed in-house or submitted by Original Equipment Manufacturers. This position requires a broad range of technical and programmatic skills. Additional responsibilities include formulating operational concepts; performing mission, functional, cost-benefit and risk analysis; selecting systems architecture; and preparing specifications for General Dynamics’ operating systems to ensure designs meet applicable security specifications. These individuals may also be asked to document security on both new and fielded information systems or provide accreditation/certification evaluation and test support to ensure all technical security features are considered and functioning properly.Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics’ technology.Support will be provided at various contractor facilities throughout the US and Osan Air Base, Korea.The AF DCGS ESE Principal Systems Engineer:
      Performs complex systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients.Plans and directs upgrades of operating systems and designs systems enhancements.Develops documentation on new or existing systems.Develops and directs tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibilities.Serves as liaison with clients, participating in meetings to ensure client needs are met.Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

AF DCGS ESE Specific Skills and Abilities:                                                                                                                                                                           

    Demonstrates effective communication skills to interface with military officials, managers, and subordinates.Possesses detailed knowledge of relevant government regulations and standards.Is familiar with applications and protocols used in imagery and signals analysis.Provides Systems/Network Engineering to include data flow analysis, design analysis, service delivery, network operations and troubleshooting, and network management.Expertise with applications and protocols used to transport large volumes of data across wide area networks.Is knowledgeable with Information Assurance practices to include execution of DoD, DIA, NSA, and IC guidance on securing classified Windows, Solaris, Linux, and network systems.Has moderate to advanced Microsoft Office skills, to include Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Project.Possesses strong writing skills, comfortable with speaking/presenting to groups.Is flexible towards travel (20-30% possible) and adjusting to changing customer needs.Exercises creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance.Delivers innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers' changing business needs.Supports and engages in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics’ culture and strategy, and complies with all policies and procedures.Follows industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics’ services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.

CompTIA Security+ (CE) or higher is preferred.CCNA or higher is preferred.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                          Security Clearance                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

TS/SCI clearance is required.        


Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.



Qualifications 8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.
