PenFed is hiring an Associate Business Intelligence Developer/Analyst at our McLean, Virginia office. The primary purpose of this position is to support the Senior BI Developer to organize and distribute information, that enables business users make more informed decisions by providing timely, relevant, and accurate answers to their business questions.  Understand business needs and technical requirements, as well as design and implement high value solutions in the PenFed information management environment.  Demonstrates enthusiasm, creativity and high levels of engagement, and provide automated reporting solutions to business units. Provide critical and constructive guidance to business users during requirements gathering and analysis processes.

    Collaborate with the Senior Business Intelligence Developer to design Business Intelligence Solutions. Create technical and /or functional designs to support the customer requirement and business objective. Scope may range from standalone applications to complex interdependent systems. Participate in strategic program implementation activities Provide support to the data analytics services teams across various business units, assisting in the scope and estimate data needs for strategic projects Ability to communicate effectively with team members, business partners and up to and including executive leadership. Develop an awareness of the competitive landscape for business intelligence tools and vendors including key differentiators and competitive positioning Responsible for modifications within the Data modeler and designing data models for BI solutions. Assist with the administration of the Business Intelligence environment. Collaborate with ETL team to deploy solution, s upport effective use of BI data by business users. Assist in the coordination of BI requirements and initiatives across PenFed Create reports and analytical application solutions. Assist in the training and support of BI users

Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.

    Bachelors or equivalent degree in a business, technical, or related field preferred or a combination of education and experience. Minimum of one (1) year of industry, technology and services experience. Experience designing and implementing Business Object Universe Objects, Reports, Tableau visualizations or other business intelligence solutions Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills Ability to work effectively independently as well as in an agile team environment Ensure a solid understanding of business objectives associated with projects and/or programs to which he or she is assigned. Effectively demonstrates influence towards positive outcomes Actively participates in internal knowledge-sharing forums
Supervisory Responsibility



Licenses and Certifications

None required but Graduate certificate in Business Intelligence, Tableau, Business Objects a plus.


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise.
