Recruiter/Staffing Specialist, Hoya Staffing - University Human Resources

The Recruiter/Staffing Specialist, as a member of Hoya Staffing, Georgetown University's in-house temporary staffing service, collaborates to recruit, screen, and place a highly qualified and diverse pool of candidates in temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire opportunities within the University.  Reporting to the Manager of Hoya Staffing, the Recruiter/Staffing Specialist works along with an HR Administrator and a Staffing Specialist and has duties that include but are not limited to:

  • Serves as a main point of contact for temporary employees and selected University departments for their staffing needs.
  • Meets regularly with new and established clients across the University to understand their staffing needs and gain their confidence.
  • Sources, screens, and interviews applicants for high priority positions with client departments.
  • Makes hiring recommendations based on candidate interviews, skills testing, salary requirements, professional references, and other factors as appropriate.
  • Works with departments to determine appropriate pay rates for assignments.
  • Provides guidance to departments regarding advertising and other recruitment related issues.
  • Works collaboratively on temporary recruiting activities with the Hoya Staffing team.
  • Oversees relationship of temporary employees with the University and its departments while they are on assignment.
  • Develops and maintains excellent relationships with University departmental representatives.
  • Performs quality control checks on a regular basis with client departments to ensure that they are satisfied with their temporary employees and the service they are receiving.
  • Takes prompt and appropriate action to remedy any unsatisfactory placements or service.
  • Work along with the Manager of Hoya Staffing to market and develop both the temporary and direct hire services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree -  preferably in Human Resources or related field
  • At least 3 - 5 years of experience recruiting and staffing a diverse pool of candidates for temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire positions
  • Knowledge of human resources issues, employment laws, and best practices
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Solid computer, project management and organizational skills
  • Self-motivation and goal orientation
