Manager Sterile Processing
The Manager of Sterile Processing Department in collaboration with the Department Director and in support of a patient first culture fostering high level of patient satisfaction, supervises and monitors the staff of the Sterile Processing & Operating Room Materials Management , and takes part in call coverage due to the 24/7 nature of the operating room. Fosters a professional atmosphere and an environment of staff development. Acts as a clinical leader and teaches in-service training courses; and, in doing so, demonstrates actions and behaviors that facilitate the process of change necessary to support the Peri-operative strategic plan. The Manager is responsible for the daily logistical operations, maintenance of People Soft, acquisition and disposition of supplies for the Operating Room Materials Management department, and responsible to monitor and control inventory levels on a 24hr basis. Works with Materials Management to obtain 100% completion and accuracy of case carts and supply carts . Directs daily maintenance of the inventory control system and accounting for used inventory. Ensures proper functioning and record maintenance of all department equipment. EDUCATION: A Bachelor's degree is required but a minimum of seven years of relevant experience may be used in lieu of the Bachelor's degree. PRIOR EXPERIENCE: Approximately three to five year of job related experience is required. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION/LICENSURE: Certification and registration as a Sterile Processing Technician or Certified Surgical Technician is preferred at the time of hire, or no later than within the first 2 years of employment.
