SQL Database Administrator
The SQL Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for providing technical support for the SQL environment including overseeing the development and organization of the databases, assessment and implementation of new technologies that utilize a SQL backend. Develops a methodology for the ongoing assessment of database performance and the identification of problem areas. Develops a security scheme for the database environment, as well as assisting in disaster recovery if necessary. Provides leadership during the development and enhancement of production applications including working with applications, technical support and operations during the design, development and implementation of applications.
-3+ years of experience with performing as a DBA for SQL servers, including performing installations and scheduling and managing backup, recovery, tuning, and other maintenance activities -Experience with troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, and security issues -Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler, and equivalent monitoring and troubleshooting tools -Knowledge of indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, and patching and how statistics work, how indexes are stored, and how they can be created and managed effectively -Knowledge of SQL server 2012 tools, including Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs, and system sprocs
-Experience applying DoD STIGS and application CIS Benchmark hardening settings
-Experience deploying and supporting SQL Always On Availability Groups -Knowledge of SQL, stored procedures, and best practices for schemas and ETIs -Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server CPU, memory, I/O, disk space, and other resource contentions
Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
8-10 years of related database analysis and/or administration experience.
