The Infectious Diseases Society of America seeks a Web and Communications Coordinator who will work under the guidance of the Web Marketing Manager to develop and manage cross-channel digital marketing campaigns and contribute to the society’s website. 

Essential Responsibilities

  • Manage e-mail message production, editing and distribution, including rapid alerts  
  • Work with colleagues throughout the organization to provide ongoing, targeted, and timely and accurate email and other digital content and materials based on organizational objectives and members’ preferences, interests, and needs and best practices
  • Produce e-newsletter and other web-based content including writing, proofing and posting
  • Conduct and distribute e-mail campaign tracking/reporting of Key Performance Indicators, with the goal of reducing bounce rates, increasing opens and click-throughs, and motivating action
  • Create, update and deliver web content using WYSIWYG editor, basic HTML and basic graphics manipulation
  • Respond to web and email inquiries from members and other site visitors, providing technical support when necessary
  • Assist with testing and roll out of new web applications and features
  • Monitor activity and analytics for digital communications efforts, including: web metrics, social media outlets, and email marketing campaigns
  • Develop and maintain internal web training resources, documentation and guidelines
  • Contribute to the Society’s member networking platform (My IDSA) by monitoring community member posts and activity, uploading resources and content and engaging members in online dialogues

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Understanding of web editing applications; basic to intermediate HTML skills
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud and email marketing platforms
  • Strong proofreading, editing and writing skills
  • Working knowledge of Adobe creative suite of products and Acrobat
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, etc)
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and perform a wide variety of tasks over the course of the workday
  • Ability to interact with vendors, IDSA members, co-workers and others
  • Ability to understand the needs of IDSA members and other primary stakeholders and creatively develop online resources and communications to meet those needs

Education and Experience Required

  • College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • 1-2 years relevant job experience

Physical Requirements

  • Environment consistent with that of a typical office setting
  • Long periods of sitting or standing
  • Frequent repetitive movements such as typing or writing
  • Constant communication, verbally  and written
