Non-profit trade association in Old Town Alexandria, VA is seeking a part-time Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a 2-year degree in accounting/finance or equivalent coursework or work experience. Employer will consider a flexible work schedule for the right candidate. Job Duties:

  • Process accounts payable and maintain vendor records and contracts
  • Process accounts receivable and prepare weekly deposits
  • Assist in month-end closing process
  • Assist in annual audit at year-end
  • Additional accounting duties as assigned
  • Some general HR and administrative support duties

Educational Requirements:

  • 2-year degree in accounting/finance or equivalent coursework or work experience

Required Skills:

  • Experience in AP/AR
  • Solid communication and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Dependable with the ability to multitask and work independently
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of accounting and HR matters
  • Familiarity with Sage 50/Peachtree Accounting software and/or YourMembership software a plus
