Communications CoordinatorCruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the global trade association dedicated to the promotion and growth of the cruise industry, is seeking Communications Coordinator to be based in its Washington, DC, office. With 15 offices around the world, CLIA represents the interests of the cruise lines, travel agents, port authorities, destinations and industry partners. The Communications Coordinator will report to the Manager, Public Relations to assist in the creating of existing and future public relations strategies, including research, event planning and extensive writing such as media concepts, pitch angles, talking points, fact sheets and media alerts and releases. The Coordinator will support the objectives and day-to-day responsibilities of the Strategic Communications team at both a North American and global level. Primary Responsibilities Include: Monitor daily media coverage and assist in the development of daily media clips and coverage reportsMaintain and update media contact databaseRespond to media inquiries and prepare briefing documents for executive interviewsEnhance existing editorial processes for publications that facilitates collaboration across teamsAssist in the drafting of communications tools, including: press releases, executive speeches, talking points and other communications materials as needed.Edit documents and messaging to ensure clear, effective and consistent communicationsSupport logistics and content needs related to CLIA Marketing & Public Relations CommitteeSupport all activities related to National Plan a Cruise MonthSupport the Manager, Public Relations with various tasks and special projects as assigned.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.1 - 3 years of marketing, communications, media or public relations experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong attention to detail and ability to support and manage simultaneous requestsAble to communicate effectively and execute work with all levels of the organizationCreative thinking and problem solving skillsAbility to tailor communication format and content for a variety of different audiencesEditing experience that aligns with AP StyleProficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, ExcelPlease submit a cover letter, salary history and resume to email@example.com with the subject line entitled "Communications Coordinator".
