PenFed is hiring an HR Shared Services epresentative at our Alexandria, Virginia office.  The primary purpose of this job is to deliver day to day customer service to all employees and to support the HR function with processes encompassing the full employee life cycle.  Under supervision, this position performs administrative work of moderate difficulty in human resources including benefits processing, wellness events, and performs related work as assigned. 


Essential Functions

    Assists department in carrying out various human resources programs and procedures for all credit union employees and subsidiary company activities. Participates in benefits processing including, but not limited to, short and long term disability, workers compensation, FMLA, COBRA, and program enrollment changes. Processes all employee movement in the HRIS database to include promotions, transfers, terminations etc. Assists with credit union sponsored events including, but not limited to, wellness events, community service events, sports activities, and blood drives.     May participate in recruitment efforts such as representing PenFed at job fairs. Responds to general benefits questions from employees and retirees, contacting benefit providers and vendors when necessary. May assist with new-employee orientation and on-boarding process. Maintains the HR mailbox, record and reports pertaining to Human Resources. May assist in the exit interview process. Identifies issues and problems and surfaces matters to HR management in a timely manner. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency of the department and services performed. Education and Experience

Equivalent combination of education and experience is considered.


    Associates degree in related field plus one to two years experience I the HR field, or any similar combination of education and experience. Bachelor’s degree desired. Ability to collaborate in a team environment necessary Attention to detail, and the ability to identify process improvement essential

Supervisory Responsibility

This position will not supervise employees.


Licenses and Certifications

There are no additional certifications required.


Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an indoor office setting with moderate noise



Occasional travel may be required based upon business needs.
