Job Summary

Westat has an immediate opening for a qualified individual to join a multidisciplinary team working on a variety of health services and policy research projects focusing on health care quality, health policy, and provider payment. The successful candidate will have expertise with Medicare payment, quality measures, performance-based payment, policy and regulatory development, and the role of health information technology in health care delivery.

Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: leading design and management of research studies using various methods, writing business proposals, reviewing stakeholder feedback, supporting rule making and policy development, participating on teams for proposal development.

Job Requirements

A master's degree in the social sciences with 15 years of experience, or a PhD in the social sciences with 10 years of experience.

The candidate must have knowledge of Medicare payment and alternative payment models, quality measures, Medicare or Medicaid administrative data; excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, with record of publication and/or presentation of research for policy and public audiences; experience with national health care policy issues, federal research contracting, and provider payment demonstration and evaluation; research experience CMS, AHRQ, ONC and other federal agencies; dedicated team player with flexibility to work with and without supervision; proficient in Microsoft Office Suite of products.
