Job Description:

We are seeking a Program Assistant based in Washington DC. As the PA, you will work with a Program Officer to manage students’ caseloads and conduct placement activities. You will also assume responsibilities that pertain to and require the assistance of the Fulbright department as a whole. Your responsibilities will include the following,

Responsibilities:             

  • You will assist with the university placement and monitoring of Fulbright students from the Middle East & North Africa
  • Coordinate university application submissions, track admission decisions, as well as enroll and maintain students’ health insurance coverage
  • Correspond with Fulbright students, AMIDEAST field staff,  U.S. colleges & universities, Department of State representatives and Fulbright Binational Commission staff
  • Coordinate university application submissions, process and reconcile student payments, track admission decisions and maintain student files and databases
  • Help us with coordinating student workshops and orientations, processing and reconciling student payments, as well as enroll and maintain students’ health insurance coverage
  • Represent us and the Fulbright program to visiting university reps and at conferences
  • Perform other tasks as may be required from time to time

Qualifications: 

  • You have Bachelor’s degree and at least 1 year of experience
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, especially Word and Excel
  • Great research skills, strong attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Interest in the Middle East & North Africa and/or International Education
  • Experience working with students is a plus
