Computer Specialist I - Oracle Database
General Dynamics IT is currently looking for a dedicated Computer Specialist to provide expert assistance in the area of database development and sustainment, specializing in implementing human resources solutions. The dynamic individual will have extensive knowledge and experience using Oracle tools; including HR, Collaboration Suite, Projects, and Discoverer. The Computer Specialist should also have experience supporting applications using Microsoft Operating Systems, Microsoft Office, and FileMaker, as well as knowledge of document workflow software. A strong background in government human resource management is desirable. You will have a key role utilizing your expert knowledge in delivering excellent IT support to our client!
- Evaluate HRO requirements and recommend to the Chief, HRO, how HR database systems can be used to increase office efficiency. Define and document requirements and processes related to the use of HR database systems. Document HRO requirements; which are prioritized by Chief, HRO. Development progress of each requirement is tracked in the Information Management Division Project Tracking System and reported directly to the Chief, HRO regularly.Provide weekly status report all action taken in support of HR.Define all HR Oracle data field requirements Coordinate implementation with BLMS team. Define criteria necessary to make these fields pertinent to Security and Training Database Systems. Automate collection of hardcopy training records and certificates; including gathering requirements, development of web certificate submission capability, and automated creation of electronic training record. Implement ability to code electronic training records to allow for ad-hoc queries of training status.Adjust settings in HR database systems, as required, to meet HRO objectives.Build interfaces between HR database and existing USAMRIID systems to include BLMS, RIID-Vision, RIID-Train, and department level FileMaker systems. Create automated workflows to facilitate the electronic routing of USAMRIID forms.Use XML, or other data definition tools to transfer data to and from institute database systems and USAMRIID forms.Create and run reports, using Institute Standard Reporting Tools, as needed to support HRO objectives. Create Training Plans and Training Documents to support use of HR database systems. Conduct training of HR database systems.Coordinate with other IT professionals within and outside the Institute, as required, to meet HRO and Institute objectives. Assist with preparing Standing Operating Procedures for the use of HR database systems.
- Bachelors Degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
- 5-8 years of directly related computer systems analysis and/or programming experience.
