Responsibilities

 

Responsible for developing and managing Information Systems Security, including disaster recovery, database protection and software development. Performs IT security analysis to ensure that all applications are functional and secure. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Develops, implements, and executes an organizational Network Defense strategy that is compliant with all local, state and federal guidelines for Information Systems and Security. Performs independent assessment of the information security posture of an organization using applicable tools. Assesses information network threats such as computer viruses and cyber threats. Provides technical oversight of the operation of vulnerability assessment equipment in support of penetration analysis and provides technical guidance. Prepares evaluation reports and recommends remedial action. Directs the work of other skill sets performing a variety of information security tasks.

Education Education and Certification Requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • CAP, CISM, GSLC or CISSP Certification required
  • ITIL v3 Certification preferred
  • DoDI 8570.01m Certification required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 8-10 years of experience in Information Security
  • Competent in most areas of information systems security, including network, application, database and physical
  • Good communication skills; shows tact, effective listening skills and follow through
  • May be required to provide clear and effective direction and guidance to less experienced staff
  • Must be able to successfully monitor systems, detect security problems and create IT solutions, including those of moderate complexity or sophistication
  • Ability to make recommendations to resolve security flaws
  • Detail oriented and organized; able to understand information systems and ensure accuracy of work
  • May review the work of others and be able to detect errors or needed modifications
  • Familiar with DoD DIACAP processes
