GDIT has an opportunity for a Cloud Contingency Operations Lead in the Information Technology field supporting an implementation and operation of an onsite private cloud. Strong VMware experience required.

 

*CISM OR CISSP IS REQUIRED.

 

Provides technical expertise in Cyber Security design and development of IT operational environments. Develops Cyber strategy of the client/server system and system design architecture to support mission requirements. Research new technology and advise on purchases in regard to data processing, data storage, data access, cyber security, and applications migration. Develops strategies for conducting studies to estimate the Cyber Security, space, hardware, software, and connection infrastructure resources required. Develops threat models of the environment, identifies and resolves Cyber operations systems performance problems. Supports incident management functions and tracking. Provides support with Continuity of Operations (COOP) and Disaster Recovery (DR) planning, documentation, testing, and implementation efforts.

The IT Business does not always offer standard 9AM-5PM hours – all candidates must be willing to perform our services during normal business hours or as required for project delivery. Our service desk is open 6AM to 6PM, so most of the time a standard work schedule may be expected; other hours are an exception.Work location is Huntsville, Alabama.Candidate must have a CISSP or CISM Certification.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides technical expertise in the design and development of IT operation environments. Develops strategy of the client/server system and the design architecture to support strategy. Researches new technology and advises on purchases for the client in regard to processing, data storage, data access, and applications development. Develops strategies for conducting studies to estimate the space, computer hardware, software and connection infrastructure resources required on a short and long term basis. Develops models of the computer and computer application environment, identifies and resolves computer operations systems performance problems. Measures system usage by workload type, identifying trends and estimating further resource requirements. May be assigned responsibility for the management of the IT operations function, including associated staff.

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

 

*Must have CISSP or CISM certification.

Qualifications 8-10 years of related systems engineering experience.
