As a Server Virtualization Engineer you are a member of an enterprise level Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Team responsible for directing tier 3 day to day server operations supporting new system delivery, change requests, proactive availability, performance monitoring, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and the resolution of system issues. Through proactive maintenance and monitoring ensures server uptime meets or exceeds established Service Level Agreements. Candidates must have strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic environment for a Department of Defense customer.


Functional Responsibility:

Serves as a Tier 3 virtual services administrator supporting work-wide operations

Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.



Certification Desired:

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
Minimum 3-5 years qualifying experience:

Deploying and maintaining VMware ESXi environments/host and guest builds VMWare vSphereVirtualization and virtual system administrationContinued use of VMWare management tools (vCenter, VRealize Operations, VMware Configuration Manager)Building scalable, high available, mission critical virtual infrastructuresDesigning, implementing and managing multiple virtual environments and vlansExperience or working knowledge of Disaster Recovery technologies helpfulExperience or working knowledge of Backup technologies Multi-site environment experienceKnowledge of and experience doing a one-to-many configuration/deployment of SRM Knowledge in conducting performance analysis for both the ESX host and their guests in the areas of CPU, Memory and I/O utilization Disaster recoveryKnowledge of server technologies, and network and enterprise storage technologies (e.g. EMC, etc)Developing maintenance and warranty requirements Ability to establish performance models and validation techniquesAbility to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
    ReviewingTCNO/IAVA/NOTAM submissions for patching or firmware update requirementsUse of Remedy Ticketing SystemDelivery of services within the ITIL v3 framework Comptia Sec+ required 5-8 years of directly related experience in systems administration and analysis.
