Summary: This position is responsible for handling major incident responses, must be a strong technical team leader and driven to resolve technical issues across complex distributed architectures. This role will work cross-functionally amongst a variety of teams and be a core contributor in every significant engineering service or solution that we deliver to our stakeholders. Must have enthusiasm for digging deep to solve problems and have sharp technical communication, prioritization and organization skills. In addition you and your team will manage mission-critical infrastructure, tools and processes that ensure the highest levels of availability and reliability


Working directly with other engineers, business stakeholders, security, and DevOps teams across multiple organizations, the Ops Manager is responsible for hiring, mentoring and leading a top notch AWS engineering team through daily proactive monitoring and issue detection by resolving issues before they become impacting. The Ops Manager will manage engineer workloads, performance and deliver clear direction to the team. Customer follow up, manage dynamic triage calls, provide performance metrics and demonstrating expertise within Service Management processes and procedures to manage service impacting incidents are just some of the additional responsibilities of this critical role.


    Adheres to architecture requirements and performance standards to meet or exceed management and customer specificationsIdentifies and directs resolution of complex hardware/software interface issuesPrepares reports on analyses, findings, and project progress, and presents results to management and/or customer personnelServes as a customer interface to resolve problems and ensure requirements are met on a timely basisProvides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced engineersMaintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assignedParticipates in special projects as requiredParticipates in fast-paced DevOps teams within Scrum agile processesCreates and delivers knowledge sharing presentations and documentation to developers and operations teams (Document system diagrams, run books, and procedures, etc.)Attends and contributes to technical discussions and working groups with various stakeholders
Education Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
