General Dynamics IT has an opening for a System Administrator with strong communication and technical skills that will support the Decennial Systems of Systems hybrid cloud infrastructure. The System Administration Team will be responsible for responding to incidents, escalation, customer service, server administration of hybrid cloud resources, DevOps toolsets, and access management systems. The System Administration Team enables the implementation and operations of multiple business applications, as well as development of new applications across different technologies. Specific roles & responsibilities for the position include but not limited to the following:
- Support provisioning servers, middleware, COTS, GOTS, and FOSSSupport provisioning virtual machines, virtual networks, VDI instances, laptops, printers and other related hardwareDeveloping and patching hardened imagesProviding support to development, test, and production teams with troubleshooting issuesDocumenting all tickets in a tracking systemAssist in capacity planning and solution scaling solutionsSupporting local on-site patch panels, switches and routersProvide troubleshooting support for desktops, laptops, printers and other related hardware Provide troubleshooting support for VDI/virtual machines, servers and LAN/WAN Manage, track and report assigned tickets daily
- Drive space monitoring Monitoring application logsPatch supportRoutine maintenance
- Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing computer systems.Performs systems development and design work that may include logic design, I/O design, firmware development, model formulation, manufacturing and development cost projections, computer architecture analysis and design, and analog or digital systems engineering.Performs systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.Participates in the upgrading of operating systems and design of systems enhancements.Provides input for documentation on new or existing systems.Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements.Identifies, analyzes, and resolves operating/hardware system problems.Provides system/equipment/specialized training and technical guidance.Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.Participates in special projects as required.
- Must have advanced level knowledge of the concepts, practices and procedures of the field of specialization.
