Cornell in Washington Program Manager
The Cornell in Washington Program (CIW) provides a semester-based, year round experiential learning experience to Cornell students who live and take Cornell classes at the Cornell University Wolpe Center in the heart of Washington, DC, and simultaneously gain experience through internships. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Program Manager will have a broad understanding of CIW's vision, goals, and operations, and actively engage with and support the CIW academic, residential, and administrative leadership to ensure a safe, inclusive and collaborative living and learning environment.
The Program Manager is responsible for day-to-day administrative, facilities, and information technology operations. The Program Manager will respond to routine and non-routine inquiries and independently research and resolve issues. Oversee and coordinate implementation of varied and complex facility-wide systems and services such as building entry card access, keys, security and fire alarms, telephone, internet access, wireless internet access, and computer lab. Create and update moderately complex spreadsheets to manage core responsibilities. Develop, oversee, and document efficient, effective, and compliant office policies and procedures. Organize and maintain CIW policies, procedures, key unit communication, and electronic and paper records.
Assist the Student Academic and Residential Coordinator in the implementation of academic and residential programs, including administration and promotion of student experiences, events, civic engagement opportunities, and internships, as applicable. Assist the Associate Director with core course academic recordkeeping including syllabi, grades, assessments, evaluations, and final projects. Responsible for technical assistance with Blackboard, Cornell Faculty Center, and classroom technology, and trouble shoot and resolve issues.
Oversee the administrative, facilities, IT, and classroom support functions of the Administrative Assistant III. Coordinate with Building Management Company. Liaise with the School of Continuing Education (SCE) Finance and University Financial Services staff to resolve financial problems and ensure departmental fiscal responsibility. Coordinate with SCE IT to ensure compliance with University IT policies.
Support Directors, Administrator II, and SCE Communications and Marketing staff to plan, create, and submit content regularly to social media platforms including CIW website, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, and LinkedIN. Assist in developing, creating, evaluating, and updating web pages, e-mails, fliers, activities, and events used for a wide variety of audiences. Routinely generate reports and metrics based on predetermined parameters to evaluate the effectiveness of marketing efforts .
May be required to provide off hours support for planned project work, completion of time sensitive tasks, and assist in emergency situations and perform other duties as assigned.
